About Gal-Tex Pilots
WHAT WE DO
The Galveston Texas City Pilots Association provides pilotage services to all foreign flag vessels and American vessels under register (regulated vessels) entering or departing the Ports of Galveston County, Texas, as required by Texas state law.
Pilotage is provided 24-hours per day, 365 days per year, in all weather and port conditions, unless closed for safety, for example, poor visibility, high winds, and storm warnings.
The Galveston Texas City Pilots have been the sentinels
of the Ports of Galveston County since 1845.
We ensure environmental and public safety by navigating each vessel and its contents without incident while maintaining professionalism by respecting our customers and stimulating economic development within our community.
